Obituary

Edith Green, 100, of Independence, Kansas, formerly of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away March 7, 2013, at the Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas. She was born on February 28, 1913, in Clay County, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Monroe and Mae Davis Raymond. She was united in marriage to Floyd Green in 1943. After 37 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on May 26, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ruby Brawner; and brothers, Truman and Herman Raymond. Edith was a longtime member of the General Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Huff and husband Jerry of Independence, Kansas; Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Rick Fincher officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
