Obituary

Edith Moffitt, 92, of Boonville, Missouri, formerly of Fagus, Missouri, passed away October 9, 2014, at the Ashley Manor in Boonville, Missouri. She was born on December 22, 1921, of Wooster, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late J.C. and Cora (Sellers) King. She was united in marriage to Doyle Moffitt on September 3, 1940, and to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Cora King; her husband, Doyle Moffitt; three brothers, Bill King, Marvin King, and Bobby King; and four sisters: Lavora Comer, Irene Pattillo, Eva Lee Matchett, and Lois Bond. Survivors include daughter, Patricia Johnson and husband Jack of Boonville, Missouri; two sons, Edward Leon of Edwardsville, Illinois, and James Leroy and wife Patricia Moffitt of St. Peters, Missouri; sister, Janette Bradley and husband Bob of Williamsburg, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Gary Hancock officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Britton Johnson, Barry Barnett, Barry Moffitt, Chad Moffitt, Donnie Moffitt, and Kirk Dobson. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Johnson and Jamie Pounds. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
