Eugene Dwayne Barker, 76, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on June 1, 1940, the son of Lewis and Genevieve White Barker. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Carol Barker and a committed partner Virginia Hampton. He is survived by five children: Patty Ezell of Piggott, Arkansas, Dwayne Barker and wife Kathy of Piggott, Arkansas, Gregory Earl Hampton of Madison, Illinois, Cindy Marie Rainbolt of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Audrey Sue McKisick of Little Rock, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren: Marcus, Roger Ashley, Holly, Cooper, Rocky, Brian, Terra, Cletis, Tommy Joe, Aaron, Elizabeth, Hank, Alison, Kendalyn and Spencer; six great grandchldren: Colby, Stormi, Rianne, Haley, Case and Zoey; three brothers: Lewis Jr. Barker and Linda of Rockford, Illinois, Richard Barker and Judy of Rockford, Illinois, Steven Barker and Starlett of Piggott, Arkansas; five sisters: Katie Betty Billings and William of Piggott, Arkansas, Peggy L. Powers and John of Rockford, Illinois, Carolyn D. Taylor of Riceville, Tennessee, Marilyn J. Johnston and Don of Doniphan, Missouri, Sheila F. Jones of Rockford, Illinois and a host of other relatives and friends. He enjoyed life and loved music, especially playing the guitar and singing. During the summer, he raised a garden and loved to cook from its bounty. His hobbies were selling tomatoes and pecans, and working on lawn mowers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Charles Richardson officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
