Rachel Ridgeway, 101, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at the General Baptist Nursing Home of Piggott, Arkansas. She was born September 9, 1910, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Virgia Ann Pollard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond S. "Doc" Ridgeway on April 8, 1996; eight brothers: Fred Nettles, Henry Arval Nettles, James William Nettles, Marvin Guy Nettles, Woodrow Wilson Nettles, John Jackson Nettles, Omer Eugene Nettles, and Benjamin Franklin Nettles; and two sisters: Dora McGhee and Florence Davis. She was a longtime member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and is survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Danny Self officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Eldon Parrish, Dennis Harmon, Danny Brown, Jason Self, Thomas Harmon, and Danny Settlemoir. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
