Ruth Bernice Keas, 85, passed away December 23, 2016, at AMMC in Paragould, Arkansas.
She was born on September 24, 1931, at McDougal, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Daniel M. Garrett and Glenda Cravens Garrett.
She enjoyed quilting, playing and listening to music. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was united in marriage to Junior David Keas on October 22, 1947, and to this union six children were born. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1983. Later she married Raymond Smith and he preceded her in death in 2011.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Keas Pruett; granddaughter, Amanda Keas; and one great-grandchild.
She was survived by her children: Jimmy Keas and wife Deborah of Paragould, Arkansas, Patricia Keas of Huntsville, Alabama, Jackie Keas of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Rita Shourd and husband David of Knobel, Arkansas, and Roger Keas and wife Sherrie of Tomball, Texas; grandchildren: Jason Keas, Jarrod Keas, Laura Shelton, Laurie Varner, Tina Keas, Jamie Keas, Trisha Keas, Jeremy Mullins, April Keas, Shannon Keas, Tori Taylor, and Aaron Miller; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Norma Dobbins of Saline, Michigan, Doris Brown of Saline, Michigan, and Linda Turner and husband Jerry of Success, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, with Elvis Brandon officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jimmy Keas, Jackie Keas, Roger Keas, Jason Keas, Jarrod Keas, and Hunter Keas. Charlie Cooper will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation is Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until service.
