Allen Smart, 74, of Saint Francis, Arkansas, passed away June 9, 2026, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.

He was born on January 8, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Curtis P. and Norma Jean (Poe) Smart.

Allen was united in marriage to Rita Faye Hall on September 22, 1981.

Allen spent many years as a truck driver for North American Van Lines and also worked in construction. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing with family and friends. Above all, Allen dearly loved his family, particularly his grandchildren. He often joked that if he had known grandchildren were going to be so wonderful, he would have had them first. His love, humor, and devotion to his family will be treasured and remembered by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Patricia.

Allen is survived by his wife, Rita Smart; son, Richard Smart and wife Amanda; daughter, Ashley Riddle and husband Brad; grandchildren, Caleb, Emma, Bryant, Alli, Addi, and one grandchild on the way; great-grandson, Kolt; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Randy Deprow officiating. Burial will follow in Hall Cemetery in Saint Francis, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
