Alma Lorene Crossfield, 92, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away June 10, 2017, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas. She was born on September 12, 1924, in Clay County, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Ernest Hollis Sr. and Tessie Cosby. She was united in marriage to Vernon 'Stub' Crossfield on June 27, 1942, and to this union two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Crossfield, and seven siblings: Denver Hollis, Frank Hollis, Ernest Hollis Jr., Mildred Tiller, Francis Hollis, Margaret Benesiuk, and Joyce Hobbs. She is survived by her two daughters: Sue Ann Rushing and husband Jerry of Carterville, Illinois and Jenny Hamilton and husband Eddie of Piggott, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Scarlett Daugherty and husband Kevin of Carterville, Illinois, Jason Janes and wife Cheryl of Herrin, Illinois, Melissa Williams and husband Lambert, David Childers and wife Julie, and Tammy Higdon and husband Shannon all of Piggott, Arkansas; twelve great-grandchildren: McKenzie Cochran, McCaine Daugherty, Dalton Daugherty, Jaylen Bates, Jillian Janes, Landon Williams, Macey Williams, Shianne Higdon, Zachary Childers, Wesley Childers, Wyatt Childers, and Nathan Gookin; Six great-great-grandchilder: Wesleigh Jo Cochran, Merritt Cochran, Phillip Daugherty, Johnnie Daugherty, Lane Childers, and Brantlee Childers; one sibling Pat Edwards, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel at Piggott, Arkansas, with Kim Bridges and Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are David Childers, Zackary Childers, Wesley Childers, Wyatt Childers, McCain Daugherty, Dalton Daugherty, Nathan Gookin, and Landon Williams. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday, June 16, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
