Benny Ray Conaway, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away November 7, 2021, at Fulton Nursing and Rehab in Fulton, Missouri.
He was born on December 25, 1951, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and was the son of the late Curtis and Leona (Young) Conaway.
Benny served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged and later became a Corrections Officer for Fulton Reception and Diagnostics. He enjoyed fishing and especially loved being with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leona Conaway; father, Curtis Edward Conaway, Sr.; two brothers, Curtis Edward Conaway, Jr. and Gregory Conaway.
Benny is survived by his daughter, Leona (Hal) Dooley of Fulton, Missouri; son, Benny Ray (Marian) Conaway II of Williamsburg, Missouri; six grandchildren, Alexis and Dalton Dillon, Atiana, Ryan, Jayden, and Ian Conaway; three brothers, Dale Wayne Conaway of Benton City, Missouri, Tony Richard (Sharon) Conaway of Kennett, Missouri, and David Conaway of New Town, North Dakota; sister-in-law, Janet Yolanda Conaway of Farber, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 12, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Gary Hancock officiating. Burial is in Williams Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Dalton Dillon, Ryan Conaway, Brian Lourance, Heath Conaway, Matthew Conaway, and Michael Conaway. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
