In the early morning hours of December 23, 2019, Betty Ann Broadway age 83 left the shackles of a sickened body and entered the gates of Heaven where her Heavenly Father welcomed her home and the Mother and Father she had longed to see were waiting with open arms.
She is survived by four sisters, Marilyn Stokes of Piggott, Arkansas, Joan Russell of Pontiac, Michigan, Donna Clifton of Puxico, Missouri, and Joyce Murphy of Arnold, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Lois Broadway and Betty Broadway; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Betty was born June 22, 1936, to Laura Elizabeth (Howell) Broadway and James Henry Broadway. She grew up in the small community of Nimmons, Arkansas, in a home full of brothers, sisters, and much love.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Helen Cooper and husband Harold, Audrey Stidham and husband W.C; three brothers, Royal Broadway, Harold Broadway and wife Lawanda; and Bobby Joe Broadway; four brothers-in-law: William Stokes, Bill Russell, Pat Murphy, and Randy Clifton.
Betty often got your attention with her fits of laughter and when she did you had no choice but to laugh with her. This will be a special memory of her for family, friends, and the staff who cared for her at General Baptist Nursing Home.
Betty was quick to tell you she loved you or pay you a compliment. She loved milk shakes, mashed potatoes and gravy and good cold water. Betty touched many lives during her thirty two years residing at our local nursing center and many lives touched hers. To each one we are grateful.
