Bobby Joe Cook, 85, of Okeechobee, Florida, passed away August 2, 2018, at the Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee, Florida.
He was born on September 22, 1932, in Kennett, Missouri and was the son of Warren and Ester (Forbuss) Cook.
Bobby was united in marriage to Goldie Raney on May 12, 1951.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Cook; father, Warren Cook; and mother, Ester Marie Cook.
Bobby worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company and retired in 1986 after working for 30 years. He was a member of the Pekin Jaycees for many years. He also was a Board member of the Peoria Sportsmen's Club for several years. He had a love of fishing, woodworking, time with his family, Johnny Cash and "Gunsmoke."
Survivors include his son, Bobby David (Linda) Cook of Okeechobee, Florida; daughter, Polly (Christopher) Luna of Marfa, Texas; grandchildren: Bethany, Brettany, Mary, Sabina, and Adam; great-grandchildren: Dakota, Hope, Greyson, Sawyer, Nala, Bella, and Sydnee; brother, Jerry (Patsy) Cook of Piggott, Arkansas; brother, Dub (Jane) Cook of Piggott, Arkansas; and brother, J.D. Cook of Okeechobee, Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 9, 2018, at 10:00 am at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Charles Richardson officiating. Burial is in Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
