Bonnie Shelton, 78, of Greenway, Arkansas, passed away April 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 23, 1944, in Fresno, California, and was the daughter of Cleveland and Ethel (Pankey) Burrow.
Bonnie was united in marriage to J.C. Shelton on March 23, 1994.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cleveland Burrow; mother, Ethel Pankey Burrow; son, James David Laxton; daughter, Adrian Shelton; five brothers, Cleveland, Bill, Lowell, Harold, and Junior; two sisters, Faye and Donna; and one great-grandchild.
Bonnie loved flowers and had a green-thumb. She also was known for her great cooking. She loved to feed her family and they all loved her delicious food. She spent many hours making quilts and baking. She also enjoyed going to church until she wasn't able to anymore.
Bonnie is survived by her husband J.C. Shelton of Greenway, Arkansas; four sons, Larry Laxton of Longview, Texas, Henry (Angie) Laxton of Greenway, Arkansas, John Laxton, Jr. of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Joshua (Jessie) Shelton of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Johnda Gosnell of Miller, Missouri, Christina Laxton of Harleton, Texas, and Holly (Chris) Simmons of Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren, Jeremy, Jamie Kenny, Kasha, William, Colby, Rachel, Ashley, Aaron, Chad, Jordan, Michael, Marissa, Kayla, Wesley, Jesse, Keifer, Floyd, Courtney, Jackson, Alexia, Zoe, Arabella; twenty great-grandchildren three brothers, Bob, Danny, and Curtis; five sisters, Margaret, Mary, Kathy, Louetta, and Rosetta; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 15, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Danny Pankey officiating. Burial is in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Jeremy, Brice, Brandon, Keifer, Floyd and Jesse. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
