Buryl Richard Petty, 79, of Greenway, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on December 17, 1941, in Rector, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Ollie and Bertha (Thornton Petty) Lewis. He was united in marriage to Sharron Jetton on April 16, 1966, and to this union three children Pamela, Becky, and Richard, were born. Buryl was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Petty and Bertha Lewis; brothers, Dallas Petty and Barney Petty; and sister, Martha Gookin. Buryl is survived his wife of 55 years, Sharron Petty of Greenway, Arkansas; two daughters, Pamela Chronister of Greenway, Arkansas and Becky Hale and husband Rick of Bono, Arkansas; one son, Richard Petty and wife Jessie of Rector, Arkansas; six grandchildren: Micheal Turner and wife Katie of Harrisburg, Arkansas; Jacob Chronister and wife Christina of Piggott, Arkansas, Dalton Hale of Bono, Arkansas, Destiny Hale of Bono, Arkansas, Abie Rogers and husband Ryan of Rector, Arkansas and Benjamin Petty of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; eleven great-grandchildren, Caleb Manning, Jordan Turner, Kyler Turner, Rylea Harmon, Breanna Harmon, Bryson Chronister, Hadley Chronister, Camdyn Chronister, Kaladin Rogers, Ellie Rogers and Charlie Rogers; four sisters, Mary Rose Wortheren of Salem, Arkansas, Viola Clark of Salem, Arkansas, Edna Shaw of Greenway, Arkansas and Della Jackson of Piggott, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas with Bro. Carlos Bland officiating. Pallbearers will be Micheal Turner, Jacob Chronister, Benjamin Petty, Jordan Turner, Caleb Manning, Dalton Hale, Justin Jackson and Jimmy Petty. Visitation will be Friday, December 10, 2021, at 5:00 pm for family and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm for the public at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
