Carl James "Jim" Buckner, 66, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on August 11, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 3, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, born to Carl James Buckner and Marianne (Rancourt) Buckner Renchenski. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl James Buckner, mother, Marianne Renchenski, and grandson, Scotty James Hagen.
Jim was raised in Garden City, Michigan, where he was baptized at a young age. He enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles. He met and fell in love with Trena and moved to Arkansas, where he worked at Hillcrest Tool and Die, making many friends and was a member of South Thornton Church of Christ. A Detroit Lions football fan, he recently converted to a Cardinal's baseball fan. According to Jim, Led Zepplin was the "greatest rock band ever." He was kind, gentle, and selfless, and he loved his family and friends, always putting everyone first.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Trena Buckner of Piggott, Arkansas; father, who raised him, Jerry Renchinski of Michigan; children: Jamie Buckner (Lance McClenathen) of Harrison, Michigan, Kristi (Scotty) Hagen of Oxford, Michigan, Lexi Wallace of Piggott, Arkansas, Leisha (Kyle) Southerland of Thompson Station, Tennessee, Gena (Matthew) Gary of Brookland, Arkansas, Christopher (Rachel) Clemons of Piggott, Arkansas; grandchildren: Justin Buckner, Alyssa Vansicklen, Jayden Vansicklen, Devyn Hagen, Emily Hagen, Liam Southerland, Lila Kate Southerland, Annabel Gary, Benjamin Gary, Noah Clemons, Choley Clemons, Miles McClenathen and Madison McClenathen; sister, Cherice Jimmerson of Burtchville, Michigan; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Kason Lawrence officiating. Burial will be held at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Scotty Hagen, Christopher Clemons, Noah Clemons, Terry Wallace, Justin Buckner, and Marty Wallace. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to a charity of your choice.
