Carl Emery Meade, 91, of Piggott, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his home in Piggott, Arkansas He was born February 2, 1921 in Piggott, Arkansas. The son of the late Robert "Bob" and Anne Mae Meade. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Elaine McGehee on June 17, 1944. To the union seven children was born. Carl was well-known throughout the community for his woodworking, skills in welding and gardening, but most of all for his love for the Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Elaine Meade, and two sons, James and Leon Meade; three sisters and four brothers. He is survived by one son, Jerome Meade of Piggott, Arkansas; four daughters, Betty Robinson, Dyrma Sanders, and Geraldine Crawford of Piggott, Arkansas; and Fleta Mooney of Searcy, Arkansas; four grandsons, John Cavaness, Donnie Cavaness, Jimmy Sanders and Brandon Mooney; five granddaughters, Mistie Gossett, Dorothy Sanders, Elizabeth Stallcup, Christen Robinson, and Cyndel Felts; three great-grandsons: Jordan Stallcup, Trey Gossett, and Jessie Sanders; and three great-granddaughters: Alexis Sanders, Elise Gossett; and Eileigh Stallcup; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, with Bill Newman officiating. Burial will be in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Cavaness, Donnie Cavaness, Jimmy Sanders, Brandon Mooney, Chad Stallcup and Daniel Gossett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Stallcup, Trey Gossett and Jesse Sanders.
