Carl Dewayne Toombs, 72, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in Lonoke, Arkansas. He was born on January 10, 1944, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Hershel Norman Toombs and Rachel Dunlap (Toombs) Gower. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Barnett and husband Mike of Lonoke, Arkansas; son, Charles Toombs of Pollard, Arkansas; brother, Phillip Toombs and wife Connie of Maumelle, Arkansas; sister, Carol Toombs Turk of Tampa Florida; grandchildren: Marcus Matlock and wife Tammalah of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Kristopher Foster of Lonoke, Arkansas; great grandson, Marcus Matlock Jr. of Jacksonville, Arkansas; along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Foundation for Multiple Myeloma Institute, www.myeloma.uams.edu/giving. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. in the Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with George Bearden officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be J.T. Wilson, Cary Wilson, Phil Toombs, Spencer Permenter, Jim Largent, and Scott Anderson. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m.
