Carolyn Sue Welty, 72, of Qulin, Missouri, passed away December 22, 2020, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on December 9, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Opie and Mabel (Doty) Hamilton. Carolyn was united in marriage to Jimmie Welty on April 17, 1965. She was preceded in death by her father, Opie Collie Hamilton; mother, Mabel L. Hamilton; husband Jimmie Welty; brother, Clarence Dale Hamilton; and sister, Mary Spradling. Sue dedicated her life to the care of the developmentally disabled. She own and operated a group home for 44 years and became an LPN and worked at General Baptist Nursing Home for 5 years. Survivors include her son, Tim Welty and wife Media of Fagus, Missouri, son, Cameron Welty of Fagus, Missouri, daughter, Nina Leutert and husband Brian of Fagus, Missouri; brother, Nolan Hamilton of Nettleton, Mississippi; grandchildren, Lee Welty, Abby Clark, Skyler Leutert, Aaron Welty, Brady Leutert, Layton Leutert, Karissa Welty, and Porter Welty; great-grandchildren, Thomas Welty, Elijah Welty, and Brayton Clark; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Shelly Elkins closing in prayer.
