Charles Luther "Luke" Palmer, 86, of Campbell, Missouri, formerly of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away July 13, 2019, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri.
He was born on July 26, 1932, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Charley and Annie Davis Palmer.
Luke was preceded in death by his brothers, Aaron, Jacob, and Bob Palmer and his sister, Charlene French.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Palmer; sister, Martha Dettling of Ann Arbor, Michigan; nieces and nephews: Martha Jane Capps of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Barbara Harmon of Pollard, Arkansas, Judy Earnhart of Piggott, Arkansas, Sue Dettling of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Gary French of Piggott, Arkansas, Alan Palmer of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Larry French of Denver, Colorado, and Neil Palmer of Little Rock, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
Luke loved gardening and all things of nature. He used to hunt arrowheads and was fortunate to find one of great value. He was an avid reader of the Bible and was knowledgeable of its contents. Luke was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, Arkansas, where he attended until his health failed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Richardson officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, will be in charge of the arrangements.
