Chesley Winfred Martin passed away peacefully at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, Arkansas on Sept 19, where he was a patient in their excellent care since 2020 and was also cared for by Hospice. He was born in Paragould, Arkansas on July 28, 1935.

He retired from the US Air Force in 1975, having served in the Vietnam war. After returning to Paragould he worked many years as a janitor and handyman for Peerless, now K&L Holdings.

He is survived by his eldest son Raymond E. Martin and wife Carol of Alaska and son Karl N. Martin of Paragould. He is survived by granddaughters Elizabeth Magnus of Conway; Jessica and Korana Martin (nee) and several grandsons. He is also survived by seven younger sisters and brothers: Peggy Sparks of Oregon, Marilyn Branson and Betty Rowland both of California and Elwin (Dean), James, and Dennis Martin all of Oregon and Kirby Martin of Utah and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Cornelius, and Rodney Martin; his parents; Jamie T. Martin and Tressie Weaver Martin.
