Christopher Trey Cavaness, 23, of Greenway, Arkansas, passed away July 13, 2026, at his home in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

He was born on December 8, 2002, in Scott County, Iowa, and was the son of Billy and Shonda (Mills) Cavaness.

Christopher attended Piggott High School, where he graduated with the determination and character that would later define his life. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy in January 2025. He completed boot camp and furthered his training at the Nuclear Power Training Unit.

Christopher had many joys outside of his service. He enjoyed bowling, video games, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Billy and Shonda Cavaness; brother, Alexander Cavaness; sister, Alicia (Javier Cano) Cavaness; three nieces, Gwendolyn McNabb, Sofia Cano, and Isabelle Cano; maternal grandmother, Sharon Mills; paternal grandparents, Gary (Cindy) Mccomb; his aunts and uncles, Rhonda (Chad) Conley, and J.P. (Tanya) Mccomb; two cousins, Emily Conley and Alison Conley; and many other relatives and friends.

Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
