Obituary

Clara Mae Petigo, 84, formally of Piggott, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, August 9, 2021, at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 30, 1936, in Franklin County, Alabama, and was the daughter of William Luther and Jessie (Bell) Pinkard. Clara was united in marriage to Thomas Jefferson Petigo on October 26, 1967. Clara devoted herself to raising her six children and caring for her family whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her father, William Luther Pinkard; mother, Jessie Lee (Bell) Pinkard; husband, Thomas Jefferson Petigo; and her daughter, Mary Hamrick. Clara was survived by her five children, Travis (Teresa) Russom of Sycamore, Illinois, Nancy (Robert) Tessner of Morris, Illinois, Regina (Bernard Alan Chlapecka) Shearer of Downers Grove, Illinois, James (Cindy) Russom of Benton, Arkansas, and Jerry Petigo of Piggott, Arkansas; nineteen grandchildren, Candie Breedlove, Brian Russom, Aaron Russom, Tabitha Ziga, Keith McManus, Matthew McManus, Jennifer Phelps, Amy Luz, Ryan Shearer, Sarah Juska, Joshua Russom, Joseph Russom, Shelby Russom, Jacob Russom, Delaney Russom, Douglas Benson, Billy Benson, Steven Merryman, and Anthony Hamrick; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Breedlove, Cody Breedlove, Christopher Breedlove, Ivan Russom, Zachary Russom, Dylan Russom, Tyler Russom, Ryan Russom, Lily Russom, Theodore Ziga, Adalynn Ziga, Luna McManus, Bear McManus, Nicholas McManus, Charlotte McManus, Paige McManus, Viviana, Daulton Faure, Brennan Luz, Alexa Luz, Nolan Luz, Oliver Russom, Avery Russom, Connor Russom, Camden Russom, Cooper Russom, and Em-marie Russom; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace McManus; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
