Curtis Edward Conaway, 94, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away December 27, 2018, at the Cedargate Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
He was born on August 5, 1924, in Clifton, Tennessee, and was the son of the late John W. and Flora Mae (Wells) Conaway.
He was united in marriage to Leona Young on August 13, 1943, and she preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Gregory Conaway, and his sister, Bessie Lee Moran.
He was the pastor of Jesus Christ Church in Hayti, Missouri for several years.
Survivors include his five sons: Curtis Conaway, Jr. and wife Yolanda of Farber, Missouri, Dale Wayne Conaway of Benton City, Missouri, Tony Conaway and wife Sharon of Kennett, Missouri, Benny Conaway of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and David Conaway of Newtown, North Dakota; fifteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Donald Aydelott officiating. Burial is in Williams Cemetery near Piggott, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
