Davey Theodore Winberry, Sr., 86, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away September 11, 2016. He was born on June 13, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, and was the son of the late Cecil K. and Nina (Gibson) Winberry. He was united in marriage to Euvila Mae Seal on June 12, 1949, and they were married for 67 years and to this union five sons and three daughters were born. He is survived by his wife, Euvila Winberry; his eight children: Davey T. 'Ted' Winberry, Jr. and wife Jeanie of Piggott, Arkansas, Dan Winberry of Piggott, Arkansas, Steve Winberry and wife Karen of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jerry Winberry and wife Lisa of Piggott, Arkansas, Deanne Yount and husband Nick of Pollard, Arkansas, Suzy Johnson and husband Kirby of Piggott, Arkansas, Tammy Spencer and husband Mark of Wynne, Arkansas, and Jonathan 'John' Winberry and wife Kelley of Blytheville, Arkansas; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Winberry and wife Edna of Horn Lake, Mississippi, and Howard Winberry and wife Bonnie of Malden, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Winberry; and sister Alma Jewell Winberry; sisters-in-law, Billie Winberry and Marlis Winberry; daughter-in-law, Dottie Winberry; son-in-law, Allen Hicks. Davey was a minister for 68 years, a member of the Union Home General Baptist Church of Rector, Arkansas, and a dual member of the Piggott Masonic Lodge # 545 and Eastern Star Masonic Lodge # 207. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church Hope Center in Pollard, Arkansas, with Bro. Loy Culver officiating. Burial is in Gravel Hill Cemetery near St. Francis, Arkansas. Pallbearers are sons and sons-in-law: Dan Winberry, Steve Winberry, Jerry Winberry, Jonathan Winberry, Kirby Johnson, Nick Yount, and Mark Spencer. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
