David Bruce Shipley passed Saturday, February 8th, at the age of 80.

He was born March 21st, 1944 in Kennett Mo to William and Verneal Shipley. He had three brothers, Troy, Randal, and Gary. He also had three sisters, Sally, Rosemary, and Vickie.

He graduated from Rector High School in 1963 and immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, earning the rank of Sergeant. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War.

He then worked for Monroe of Paragould for thirty plus years, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as tinkering in his shop and spoiling his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers Troy and Gary, and sister Vickie.

He is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Linda Shipley. Brother Randal Shipley and wife Barbara. Sisters Sally Shipley and Rosemary Morris. One Aunt, Joann West. His sons Sean and Shane Shipley. Grandchildren Reece, Sierra, Brooke, and Brody Shipley. Special nephew Travis Shipley. Also survived by a host of Nephews, Nieces, cousins, and a large extended family.

In lieu of a funeral, a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
