Obituary

Dorothy Luella Morris, 95, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, formerly of McDougal, Arkansas, passed away April 15, 2020, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on March 20, 1925, in Monroe, Michigan, and was the daughter of the late William and Edith Ford Bergren. Dorothy was united in marriage to Olen Morris on January 8, 1947, and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Olen Morris and her brother, Jack Bergren. Dorothy enjoyed playing the piano and listening to gospel music and was a faithful attendee of the gospel singing conventions. She also enjoyed sewing and crafting. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Harmon and husband Ronald of Jonesboro, Arkansas, son, Stacey Morris and wife Debbie of West Memphis, Arkansas, daughter, Sharon Phelan and husband Wesley of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, and son, Tom Morris and wife Knea of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Harmon, Jami Harmon Nash, Cory Morris, Jennifer Morris Cloud, Matthew Morris, Shaira Rodriguez, Nate Phelan, and Aaron Phelan; great-grandchildren, Lynn Jeffrey Harmon, Blake Couch, Harmon Nash, Kiannah Rodriquez, Ariannah Rodriguez, Yadier Rodriquez, Eve Phelan, Kaden Morris, and Lilli Morris; sister, Bonnie Griffith of Chelsea, Michigan; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brown's Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Missouri, with Bro. Jared Hancock officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, or the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
