Dorthy "Dot" Palmer, 84, of Campbell, Missouri, passed away April 20, 2022, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri.
She was born on March 5, 1938, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Jesse and Mayzell (Green) Permenter.
Dot was united in marriage to Charles Luke Palmer in 1958. She worked as a nurse for many doctors at the Piggott Clinic for 41 years and worked many years as a surgical nurse for Dr. Gordon Duckworth. Dot loved to paint, enjoyed flowers, and loved her many dogs she had through the years. She loved to the sing at the nursing home and the staff always enjoyed hearing her sing. The hospice nurse always called her their "VIP patient". Dot was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Permenter; mother, Mayzell Permenter; husband, Luke Palmer; sister, Barbara Divine; nephew, Ronald Kellems, Jr.; and great-nephew, Donnie Rommel.
Dot is survived by her sister, Beth (Preston) Davis of Piggott, Arkansas; two nieces, Carol Ann Rommel and Beverly Kennon; nephew, Troy Davis; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Jim Davis officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
