Dovie Mae Culp, 93, of Malden, Missouri, passed away September 19, 2017, at the Ridgeview Living Community in Malden, Missouri.
She was born on July 14, 1924, in St. Francis, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Rube and Hester Bryant Walker.
She was united in marriage to Johnie Curtis Culp on January 11, 1948, and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Willie Walker and Charles Walker; and daughter-in-law, Jana Culp.
Dovie was a faithful and active member of the United Methodist Church where she attended in St. Francis, Arkansas, and later attended in Malden, Missouri. She enjoyed sewing and was known as a very upbeat and optimistic person who loved life.
Survivors include her two sons: Johnie Walker Culp of Malden, Missouri, and Stephen Mark Culp and wife Cheryl of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren: Christa Riley, Samuel Culp and wife Cassie, and Joshua Culp and wife Adrienne; great-grandchildren: Mason L. Riley, Ethan Culp, and Mallory Culp; three sisters: Mary Wagster, Myrna Walker, and Myra Walker all of St. Francis, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Hoggard & Sons Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. with David Gibson officiating. Burial is in Hall Cemetery in St. Francis, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to the United Methodist Church in Malden, Missouri or the American Cancer Society.
