Henry "Earl" Sims, 87, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on April 10, 2026, at Baptist South in Jacksonville, Florida.

He was born on July 10, 1938, in Adel, Georgia, to Henry Sims and Judy (Noles) Parham. A proud Georgia native, Henry later made Arkansas his home, where he lived for nearly 50 years.

He had a deep love for country living and found great joy in caring for a wide variety of animals, from horses to billy goats. His life reflected a strong work ethic and a hands-on spirit. During his time in Florida, he worked as a master refrigeration mechanic, along with construction work, building a reputation for his skill and dedication to his trade.

Earl is survived by his children, David (Leisa) Sims of Lawtey, Florida; Scott (Rhonda) Sims of Piggott, Arkansas; and Kelly Sims of St. Augustine, Florida. He is also survived by his siblings, Tom (Alma) Sims of Piggott, Arkansas, and Fred (Pat) Sims of Clearwater, Florida.

He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Amber (Ryan) Zivitski, Lori (Brandon) Clark, Katelyn (Daniel) Gallaher, Paige (Adam) Dew, and Mason Sims Podlaszewski; as well as his great-grandchildren, Paxton Zivitski, Sterling Zivitski, Brodix Zivitski, and Brynlee Clark.

Earl was preceded in death by his son, Richard Earl Sims ("Ricky"); his wife, Mary Sims; his mother, Judy Parham; and his father, Henry Sims.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Robert Dement, Michael Gurley, Ronnie Cole, Gary Moffitt, Gary Chronister, Jeff Benbrook. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
