Earl Devon Young, 88, of McDougal, Arkansas, passed away March 20, 2019, at Corning Therapy & Living Center in Corning, Arkansas.
He was born on June 4, 1930, in McDougal, Arkansas, and was the son of John "Buster" and Bertha (Stanley) Young.
Devon was united in marriage to Norma Dean Read on July 23, 1948. He served in the United States Navy being honorably discharged in 1949. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Young; grandson, Matthew Young; great-grandson, Ross Young; sister, Velma Rigdon; brothers, Denzil Young and Donald Young.
Survivors include his children, Franklin (Diane) Young of Milan, Michigan, Michael (Nancy) Young of Hernando, Mississippi, Marianna (Freddy) Bowers of McDougal, Arkansas, and Timothy Young of Bartlett, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jody Bowers, Jeremy Bowers, Jason Bowers, Justin Young, Curtis Young, Stephanie Squire, and Melissa Mansuy; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Winifred Johnson; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, March, 25, 2019, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with funeral immediately following at 12:00 pm with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be held in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Grandchildren will serve at pallbearers. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Children's Home in Paragould, Arkansas.
