Earnest Thomas Jordan of Piggott, Arkansas, passed peacefully at his home on May 20, 2024, at the age of 86 year, 6 months and 12 days. He was born on November 8, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri , and was the son of the late Clarence and Ida Marie (Wood) Jordan.
Earnest worked several places throughout his life from selling shoes to real estate and retiring from Briggs and Stratton. He graduated from college with an AA degree in History at the age of 52 years old. He was a Christian who wrote a book on religion and his beliefs and history of the Bible. He always shared his beliefs and spread the Gospel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eupha Mae (Jordan) Estes); brother, Clarence Bud Jordan; daughter, Cherri Gilbreath; son, Derek Jordan; and two grandchildren, Cheryl and David Lee.
Earnest is survived by his Evelyn Raylene (Sutton) Jordan of 38 years on June 9th; a son, T.J. Elison of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Ann Craig of Gatesville, Texas; grandchildren, Tommy John, Jacob, Dakota, Elyxis, Michael, and Tony; great grandchildren, Corabryn, Michael Anthony III, Elizabeth, Sophia, Penelope, Joe Joe, and Sophia; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will hold a memorial graveside service on Monday, May 27. 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rucker Cemetery on County Road 574 near Williamsville, Missouri, with Jeff Estes officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
