Edward C. Ort, 94, of St. Francis, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at the Piggott Community Hospital. He was born on October 11, 1918, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of the late John Frederick and Ruby Dupue Ort. He was united in marriage to Imogene Stewart on December 30, 1939, and to this union two sons were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Ort; his parents; his son, Jual Ort; five brothers: William, George, Floyd, John, and Lawrence Ort; two sisters: Bulah Bell and Elizabeth Ellis. Survivors include his son, Donny Ort and wife Debbie of Sikeston, Missouri; three grandchildren: Rusty Ort, Deanna Phelps, and Matthew Ort; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with O.H. Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Larry Boyer, Darrell McCrillis, Allen Smart, Jim Duty, Ronnie Tullos, and Ricky Haywood. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
