Ethel May Dover Mohler, 70, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away January 16, 2019, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born on July 1, 1948, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the daughter of William and Wilma (Lingle) Dover.
Ethel was united in marriage to Larry G. Mohler on December 20, 1969, and to this union two children were born.
Ethel graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She lived for many years in Warren, Michigan, where she was a teacher. She attended Michigan State University earning a Master's Degree in Elementary Curriculum. In 1991, she moved to Piggott, Arkansas, where she began teaching at the Piggott Elementary School and was given the Golden Ruler Teacher Award by KAIT. She retired from the Piggott School District after 19 years of service. After retirement she moved to Paragould, Arkansas, where she was a member of the Greene County Retired Teacher's Association and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She and her husband volunteered for the Greene County Museum. She also joined the Red Hat Society and Delta Kappa Gamma.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Arlet Dover; mother, Wilma Jo Dover; brother, Gary Dover; and brother-in-law, Wayne Mohler.
Survivors include her husband, Larry G. Mohler of Paragould, Arkansas; daughter, Amanda Williams of Valencia, California; son, Greg Mohler of Paragould, Arkansas; granddaughters, Caitlin Williams and Audrey Williams; siblings, John (Martha) Dover of Piggott, Arkansas, Elaine (Lloyd) Mistele of Palos Verdes Estates, California, Donna (Frank) Staples of Piggott, Arkansas, Steve Dover of Pollard, Arkansas, and Vernon (Sybil) Dover of Eudora, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Yvonne Mohler of Warren, Michigan; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 12:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with John Fleming officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Johnny Ray Dover, Tim Dover, Joseph Dover, Randy Mistele, Rhys Mistele, Sean Mistele, Adam Staples, Glenn Alan Campbell, and Jason Hammond. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Saturday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas.
