Eva Bernice Tanner, 94, of Rector, Arkansas, passed away April 10, 2018, at the Rector Nursing Home in Rector, Arkansas.
She was born on April 30, 1923, in Stanford, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Jess and Ollie Rickman.
She was united in marriage to Charles Jess Tanner on July 19, 1940, and to this union three children were born. Her husband Charles Jess Tanner preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughters: Pam Dooley and Kim Butcher; two brothers: Carol Rickman and Weldon Rickman; and sisters: Mamie Smith, Hattie Smart, Gertrude Sims, Mary McDaniel, and Junie Manning Owens.
Survivors include her sons: Johnny Ray Tanner of Piggott, Arkansas, Lendell Lee Tanner of Bloomsdale, Missouri; daughter, Patsy Cook and husband Mike of Piggott, Arkansas; grandchildren: Theresa Gregory, Lisa Bedwell, Randy Covert, Charlie Cook, and Paula Quinn; eleven grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends..
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Mike Book officiating. Burial is in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Garrett Cook, Levi Cook, Cody Holcomb, David Bedwell, Jeff Bedwell, and Ted Wallis. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. Thursday.
