Ezra "Junior" Jackson, 84, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away June 3, 2019, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born on November 5, 1934, in Fagus, Missouri, and was the son of Robert Ezra and Mabel (Cooper) Jackson.
Junior was united in marriage to Maxine McCrory Jackson on March 13, 1954.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ezra Jackson; mother, Mabel Jackson; and half brother, Wyman Irby.
Junior was baptized in 1980. He attended Mars Hill Methodist Church near Crockett, Arkansas, where he was Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, and Song Leader. He worked in construction and farming and also worked at the Piggott City Street Department and Clay County Road Department as Superintendent. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends and also enjoyed afternoon coffee at the diner. He loved his family and friends and his church family.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Jackson of Piggott, Arkansas; two sons, Randal Lynn Jackson and wife Debbie of Piggott, Arkansas, and Christopher Lee Jackson of Sherwood, Arkansas; two grandsons, David Seal of Corning, Arkansas, and Cory Jackson of Sikeston, Missouri; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one great-great granddaughter; two brothers, Roy (Cynthia) Jackson of St. Peters, Missouri, and Jerry Jackson of Jewel Ridge, Virginia; sister, Betty Cummings of Iverness, Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Jerry Morgan officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Todd Watson, Jeff Howell, Elvis Chavez, Alan Morris, Jessie Shore, and Earl McRoberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Howell, Jim Gearhart, Devon Harris, J.E. Graddy. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
