Obituary

Flossie Murray, 91, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on April 15, 2026, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.

She was born on July 15, 1934, in Nimmons, Arkansas, to the late Wilburn and Nola (Nettles) Herren.

Flossie was united in marriage to Pleze Murray, and to this union three daughters and one son were born. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who faithfully cared for her family throughout her life.

Flossie was known as a hard worker in all that she did, approaching every task with diligence and determination. She found great joy in spending time with her family, who were the center of her life. She also had a special gift in the kitchen and was well known for her cooking, especially her fried chicken and chicken and dumplings, which were cherished by all who gathered around her table.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pleze Murray; her parents; her son, Brad Murray; five brothers, Prentice, George, Fred, Loyd, and W.J. Herren; and four sisters, Violet Williamson, Imelda Herren, Shirley Cole, and Velma Roofe.

Flossie is survived by her three daughters, Brenda (Virgil) Rice of Corning, Arkansas, Tami Fraine of Kennett, Missouri, and Paula (Armando) Santos of Dexter, Missouri; one brother, Roy (Wanda) Herren of Corning, Arkansas; one sister, Lucille (Tom) Wentz of Pevely, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., with Jerrod Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Nimmons Cemetery in Nimmons, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Barry Keck, Jarred Young, Trevor Keck, Kody Pierce, Ethan Pierce, Dakota Santos,Will Vancil and Bo Young. Matthew Murray, Bentley Young, and Dj Murphy will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
