Obituary

Franklin Neal Green, 81, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away September 13, 2019, at his home in Piggott, Arkansas. He was born on August 6, 1938, in Crockett, Arkansas, and was the son of Eddie Franklin and Minnie (Reagan) Green. Franklin was united in marriage to Geneva Utley and she preceded him in death on May 18, 1987. He was united in marriage to Alta Mae Ridley on October 6, 1990, and she preceded him in death on July 27, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Gerri Denise Johnson; stepdaughters, Debbie Davidson and Rhonda Reeves; wife, Geneva Green; brothers, Onard Green, Jerry Green, Dale Throgmorton, and Ray Throgmorton; and sister, Faye Reed. Frank loved gardening, flowers, vegetables, and fishing. He would help anyone in need and loved attending the Greenway Church of Christ. Frank loved his grandkids and was loved by everyone. The family would like to thank the staff of the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott and the staff of Legacy Hospice for caring for their father. Survivors include his son, Tim Green of Piggott, Arkansas; daughters, Tina Marie (Donald) Rogers of Biggers, Arkansas, and Terri Louise Monette of Piggott, Arkansas; stepdaughters, Jeanie (Ted) Box of Batesville, Arkansas, Kathy Gardner of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Carolyn Ann (Ray Joe) Patty of Glenwood, Arkansas, and Debra Lynn Somers of Bastrop, Texas; stepsons, Larky (Cindy) Reeves of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Sonny (Becky) Reeves of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Randy Reeves of St. Louis, Missouri, and Shermon Lester (Jackie) Somers, Jr. of Batesville, Arkansas; brother, Edward (Marie) Green of Loveland, Colorado; sister, Linda (Ronnie) Romine of Piggott, Arkansas, and Joyce (Paul) Bond of Greenway, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Paul McFadden and Art Smith officiating. Burial is in Mars Hill Cemetery near Crockett, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
