Frieda Mae Bowden passed away in her sleep at the age of 84 on January 28, 2018, in Springfield, Missouri, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.
She was born March 23, 1933, in Pollard, Arkansas, to Iley Hollan Ellis (1900-1972) and Jewel Calista Baker (1910-1988).
She worked as an in home care giver and raised her family. She loved her family and her Lord Jesus Christ. Most important to her was to know that all her family had accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior and would be in heaven with her some day. This was a question she asked them often.
She was married three times and was divorced at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by two of her husbands, Robert Lee Bowden (1931-2007) and Darrell Delaine Davis (1933-2005). Her third husband LeRoy Clifton Eichman (1929-) is still living.
She has two surviving children, Steven E Bowden and wife Cheri of Walnut Shade, Missouri and Pamela B Conrad and husband Jerry of New River, Arizona. She has three surviving grandchildren, Stephanie Millsap and husband Mark of Paulden, Arizona, Lee Bowden and wife Jennifer of Camdenton, Missouri, and Tanner Conrad of New River, Arizona and one step grandchild, Caleb Yeates and wife Rebekah of Ozark, Missouri. She has two great-grandchildren and one more on-the-way.
She is preceded in death by her parents Iley Hollan Ellis (1900-1972) and Jewel Calista Baker(1910-1988); her sister Dora Elizabeth Ellis (1928-1984); brother in law Francis 'Babe' Marion Bare (1928-2005); one grandson Cody Conrad (1991-2015); and one step-grandson Jacob Yeates (1989-2006).
A special thank you to the staff at Woodland Manor Care Center in Springfield, Missouri for all their love, care and attention they have given to Frieda over the last 2 years. Another special thank you for her circle of friends that stuck by her over all the years through the good times and the bad times. Some have preceded her in death and others have continued to call on her to the end even when she was not able to talk.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas, with Charles Carrens officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
