Gary Dale Chronister, 56, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on July 26, 2026.
He was born on February 2, 1970, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of Virgil Dale and June (Crossfield) Chronister.
Gary was united in marriage to Shelly White on September 12, 2025.
Gary was deeply committed to his family, friends, and community. He worked for the City of Piggott for 32 years, eventually becoming Street Superintendent. He took great pride in serving his hometown and especially loved snow days when he could be out plowing the streets of Piggott.
Gary was very patriotic and proudly served in the National Guard for many years. Growing up, he enjoyed hunting, especially rabbit hunting, and became known as the destroyer of many motorcycles and vehicles. During his high school years, he loved playing basketball.
Gary lived life to the fullest and treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. He loved being surrounded by those closest to him and was always ready to enjoy life and make lasting memories. In more recent years, he became a chicken herder and even learned the art of canning.
Gary is survived by his wife, Shelly Chronister; his parents, Dale and June Chronister; his daughter, Lindsey (Landon) Hunter; two sons, Corbin Chronister and Cameron Chronister; grandson, Caleb Hunter; sister, Brande (Tim) Boyd of Piggott, Arkansas; two nieces, Holly (Spencer) Parnell and Natalie Boyd; nephew, Luke (Linh-Sieu) Boyd; great-niece and great-nephew, Ella and Graham Parnell; his best friend, David Hollis; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with David Hollis officiating.
A private famiy burial was held at Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas.
