Gary Bruce Holcomb, 72, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away June 27, 2017, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born May 27, 1945, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Sidney and Bessie Geneva (Branson) Holcomb.
He was united in marriage to Sue Burns on October 25, 1974.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Trent Holcomb; sisters-in-law, Jan Rose Holcomb and Charlene Holcomb; and brother-in-law, Riley Brewington.
Gary worked with his brother, Garland 'Bud' Holcomb as masonry for many years. He loved fishing and also enjoyed quail hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Holcomb of Piggott, Arkansas; two daughters, Fonda Tate and husband Paul of Arnold, Missouri, and Susan Holcomb of Piggott, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Nicolas Tate, Madison Pool, and Randy Pool; three brothers: Dewey Holcomb and wife Paula of Piggott, Arkansas; Garland 'Bud' Holcomb and wife Sonya of Piggott, Arkansas, and Steve Holcomb and wife Gail of Piggott, Arkansas; sister, Glenda Brewington Cookeville, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Jack Cole officiating. Burial is in Holcomb Cemetery near Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Paul Tate, William Holt, Donnie Holcomb, Glen Ervin, Shane Holcomb, and Jason Holcomb. Honorary pallbearers are Gaylon Coomer, H.A. Wellman, Eddie Lovins, Lance Holcomb, and Brad Montgomery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
