Geneva Ann (Williams) Hickson, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She fought a very courageous battle against cancer.
She was born on July 23, 1949, in Batesville, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late Brother Leonard and Estelle (Wammack) Williams. She grew up in Senath, Missouri and has lived in Piggott, Arkansas since her marriage to Paul Hickson on June 10, 1977.
Geneva worked her whole life in health care as a nurse in different capacities. She worked 25 years at Twin Rivers Hospital in Kennett, MO., as well as Piggott Community Hospital, Dunklin Country Memorial Hospital, Pemiscott Hospital, Piggott Nursing Home and countless hours as a private nurse. Many will remember her caring heart and years of dedication to serving others. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends wherever she went and never knew a stranger. She loved a good garage sale, shopping, telling stories and she will always be know for her dance moves.
Geneva was most proud of her family. She leaves behind her husband Paul of 45 years. Two daughters, Desiree Tyrrell, Amanda Cooper; son, Scott Hickson; grandchildren, Jean Marie Tyrrell, Kayla and Justin Cooper and Addy Hickson and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Brother Kevin Murray will be officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Rob Hickson, Daryn Hickson, Monte Howell, James Howell and Mark Howell. Justin Cooper will serve as honorary pallbearer. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
