Glenda "Sue" Duty, 82, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away May 12, 2022, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. She was born February 27, 1940, in Campbell, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Jim (JJ) Brown and Freda Leota Pleasant Brown. She graduated from Campbell High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to Jim Duty on April 18, 1959. After graduation she spent a few years working at Piggott Cotton and Grain, but her true calling was working as a daycare provider in Piggott, and later Campbell. At her last account, she could recall over 400 children that spent time in her care over the years. Though her and Jim could not have children of their own, it would not stop them from touching and changing the lives of many of those children. Sue was always happiest with a lap full of children. Sue and Jim raised two boys, Mark Brown of Piggott, and Scott Brown (Tallah) of Piggott, and one girl, Missy Norred (Geoff) of Piggott. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Brooke Smith, Kelsey Woody (Sam), Matt Cole (Jody), Lauren Brown (Sarah), Tyler Haygood, Macey Haygood, Archer Rabjohn, Quinn Brown; great-grandchildren: Mabry, McCoy, Vayda, Audrey Jo, Amos, and Vera; nephews Jeff Brown and Gary Brown and numerous other nieces and nephews; countless others whom they helped raise. She shared over 40 years of close friendship with Betty Cole of Piggott. She was preceded in death by: Husband Jim on November 24, 2018; Brother Jerry Brown; and her parents. Sue was a member of the St. Francis Baptist Church where she spent many years as a children's Sunday School teacher. She also served alongside Jim in various community roles through the years including Scouts Leader, youth group leader, and church bus driver.
