Glynn Dale Yount, 77, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri.
He was born on April 28, 1934, in Floral, Arkansas, and was the son of the late O.D. and Lola Dossett Yount.
He was united in marriage to Gloria Faye Nicholas and to this union three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria Faye Yount; infant son, Timothy D. Yount; and brother, David Yount.
Glynn was a member and deacon of New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard. He retired after 31 years from teaching at Pollard School District and Gideon School District.
Survivors include his two sons: Nick Yount and wife Deanne of Pollard, Arkansas, and John Yount and wife Patricia of Pollard, Arkansas; grandchildren: Tidoshia Rodgers and husband Stacey of Ashland City, Tennessee, Trishon Crisler and husband Wes of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, Matt Yount and wife Andrea of Pollard, Arkansas, Sarah Moody Thompson and husband David of Memphis, Tennessee, Marc Yount and wife Michelle of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Luke Yount of Pollard, Arkansas; seven great grandchildren: Gloria Marie, Elijah Oliver, Blydyn Ti, Avery, Karter, and Jack; two great grandsons "on-the-way"; brother, Boyce Yount and wife Nellie of Farmington, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hope Center in Pollard, Arkansas, with Loy Culver officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jerry Grider, Cary Wilson, Wayne Hendley, Mike Huggins, Gaylon Burkman, and Steve Baker. Honorary pallbearers are James Huggins, Gary McKenney, and John Dover. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
