Gwen S. McKenney, 61, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born June 7, 1949, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late W.V. Vaughter and Gladys Robbins Irwin. She was united in marriage to Gary McKenney on June 1, 1996. Gwen was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church. She taught English for 32 years in the Piggott School District. After her retirement she and her husband managed their farm. Survivors include her husband, Gary McKenney of Pollard; daughter, Rachel Morgan and husband Mark of Harrisburg, Arkansas; son, Garrett McKenney and wife Jenny of Piggott, Arkansas; three grandchildren: Gretchen Morgan, Vivian Morgan, and Claire McKenney; and may other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, Arkansas, with Loy Culver officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Conley, Dewayne Holifield, Don McNeeley, Nick Yount, and John Yount, John Brawner. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Yount, Donny Holifield, and Melvin Holifield.
