Hazel Margaret Veal, 90, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away January 21, 2020, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, Arkansas. She was born on May 16, 1929, in Searcy, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Harry and Naomi (Harrid) Nash. Hazel was united in marriage to Harry Curtiss Veal on August 12, 1946. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Nash; mother, Naomi Nash; husband, Harry Curtiss Veal; daughter, Donna Gail Cate; grandsons, Brian Dennis Cate and Scott Curtiss Cate; and sisters, Blanche Elliott and Maxine Medlock. Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. She loved to quilt and enjoyed canning and cooking. Survivors include her son, Billy Curtiss Veal and wife Penny of Piggott, Arkansas; son-in-law, Dennis Cate of Corning, Arkansas; granddaughter, Traci Lynn Fuhrman and husband Tony of Bryant, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Michael Curtiss Fuhrman, Paige Lynn Fuhrman, Garrett Fuhrman and Kaitlynn Hill; great-great grandson, Jessie Hill, Jr.; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Van Taylor, Barry Johnson, Paul Seegraves, Tony Fuhrman, Dennis Cate, Eugene Coleman, Carlos Crittenden, Joe Ballard. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
