Henry Vernon Johnson, 94, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away March 11, 2019, at Piggott General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
He was born on March 28, 1924, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of Robert and Lula (Duty) Johnson.
Henry was united in marriage to Bernice Nichols on October 31, 1947.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Albert Johnson; mother, Lula Johnson, wife, Bernice Johnson; brother, Raymond Albert Johnson; sisters, Marie Carter and Frances Binkley.
Henry was a member of Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. He served in WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946, and he owned and operated a dairy farm near Hitt's Chapel for many years.
Survivors include his son, David (Brenda) Johnson of Franklin, Tennessee; granddaughter, Jazz Johnson of Franklin, Tennessee; brother, Doyne (Addie) Johnson of Spokane, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 18, 2019, at 2:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Jack Cole officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Darrell McCrillis, Jim Nichols, Gary Nichols, Rex Smart, Roger McKenney and Charles Richardson. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Monday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm in Piggott, Arkansas.
