Ida Velera Carr, 86, of Kennett, Missouri formerly of Piggott, Arkansas and Corning Arkansas, passed away at the National Health Care Center in Kennett, Missouri on Sunday July 4, 2010.
She was born to the late Joseph Hightower and Ida Dixie Moore Crowson on June 28, 1924 in Greenway. Arkansas.
She was united in marriage to Ray Carr on December 19, 1947.
Velera servered the Lord at the Calls Chapel General Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Ray Crowson, Fuson Crowson, Dallas Crowson and Howard Crowson; three sisters, Iramae Garner, Erma Smart and Faye Goodman.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Ray Carr now residing in Kennett, Missouri ; one daughter, Charray Rogers and husband Gaylon of Blytheville, Arkansas; one son Brent Carr and wife Brenda of Kennett, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brittney Mills and husband Rickey of Benton, Arkansas, Hannah Rogers of Blytheville and Mackenzie, B.J. and Blake Carr of Kennett, Missouri; great grandson, Cooper Mills; one sister, Marguerite Smart and husband W.F. of Piggott and one brother, Ray Crowson of Greenway, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Rev James Dortch officiating. Burial will be in the Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers will be immediate family. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday until funeral time.
