Jackie Wayne Byrd, 74, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at the NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on September 19, 1939, in St. Francis, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Orba and Lillian Ward Byrd. He was united in marriage to Mary Finley Moore on May 27, 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Larry, Ricky, and Jimmy Byrd; two stepchildren, Diana DeStefano and Curtis Bruce Moore. Survivors include his wife, Mary Byrd of Piggott, Arkansas; children: Phyllis Byrd of Michigan, Carroll Jackson Byrd (Christie) of Florida, Jacklynn Rice (Marcus) of Paragould, Arkansas; stepchildren: Janet MacDonald (David) of Piggott, Arkansas, and Glen Moore (Sherry) of Piggott, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Orbylene Willard (Bob) of Campbell, Missouri, and Alice Key of St. Charles, Missouri; brother, Danny Byrd (Debbie) of Patton, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Charles Richardson officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.
