Obituary

James Elijah 'Bo' Brandon departed this life on December 27, 2017, at the Piggott Community Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1929, at Greenway, Arkansas. He was the son of Orval and Nannie (Black) Brandon. He was united in marriage to Josie Duckworth on June 3, 1946, and to this union two daughters were born. In his early years, he worked at the Piggott Bakery and later shared ownership with Cecil Trafford in operating the Piggott Pastry Shop for a number of years he was employed by building contractors doing floor service work and painting. He later did custom painting until his health failed. Soon after marriage, Bo professed faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. He loved the church and remained faithful as long as possible, having fulfilled his responsibility in a number of positions. Bo was a hunter and fisherman. He also loved Southern Gospel music. He took pride in his family and in keeping his homeplace looking good. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with others. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol Ann Raybon (Michael); an infant brother, Junior; and four other siblings: brother, Emory Ray Brandon and sisters, Margreat Parker, Ruth Homer, and Lizzie Baile. Survivors include are his wife, Josie of 71 years; daughter, Cindy Lee Miller and husband Walter of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; son-in-law, Michael (Deborah) Raybon of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren: Blake Raybon (Christy) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Jeremy Wiseman (Autumn) of Clarkton, Missouri, Sara Wiseman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and great-grandchildren: Katelyn Rebstock, Larry 'J' Green, Jr., Mashayla Wiseman, Gavin Raybon. He was also blessed with three step grandchildren, Jackson, Stephen, and Jenna. There are also nieces, nephews, and many friends who loved him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Bro. Rondal Richardson officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Walter Miller, Jeremy Wiseman, Jackson DeCourley, Michael Raybon, Blake Raybon, and Jay Green. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Mayo, Larry Winberry, Shawn Parker. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday beginning at 5:00 p.m.
