James Matthew Hooten, 45, of Kennett, Missouri, passed away May 28, 2023.

He was born on August 17, 1977, in Kennett, Missouri, and was the son of James Franklin Hooten and Jean Ann (Braden) Hooten.

Matt was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Hooten.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1995-1999 during Desert Storm.

Matt is survived by his mother, Jean Ann Hooten of Pollard, Arkansas; children: Aubree and Parker Hooten both of Malden, Missouri, and Ben Hooten of Piggott, Arkansas; brother, Billy Hooten of Dallas, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Chris Kennedy officiating and David Mosby assisting. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Justin Hooten, David Mosby, Gary Cunningham, Rick Braden, Michael Hooten, and Robert Merriott. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas.
