James Lee Ward, 77, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away March 31, 2018, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born on August 19, 1940, in McDougal, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Benjamin Aubrey Ward and Mamie Marie Warbritton Ward.
He was united in marriage to Margie Lea Green on August 9, 1958, and to this union five children were born.
James was preceded in death by his wife, his parents; his son, Dennis Greg Ward; one sister; June Sanders.
He is survived by his children; son, James Mark Ward and wife Beth of Jenks, Oklahoma; three daughters, Denise Cate and husband Lindell of Desoto, Missouri, Julie Ann Stow of Brookland, Arkansas, and Lisa Allison and partner Kenny Allison of Paragould, Arkansas; grandchildren, Alesia Speers of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Lindsay Currie of Desoto, Missouri, Lee Stow and wife Jennifer of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Kelsey Ray and husband Jason of Oak Grove, Arkansas, Rhianne Hohendorf and husband Shawn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Bryce Ward of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Hunter Clayton of Paragould, Arkansas; five great-grandchildren: Austin, Peyton, Rilee, Sara, and Colton; brother-in-law, Fletcher Leird of Malden, Missouri; two sisters: Edna Cato of Corning, Arkansas, Glenda Hill and husband Glen of Alexander, Arkansas; sisters-in-law: Sylvia Reed, and Cora Harmon and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with a graveside service following at 2:00 p.m. at Rogers Chapel Cemetery near Crockett, Arkansas, with Elvis Brandon officiating. Pallbearers are Lindell Cate, Kenny Allison, Jason Ray, Austin Currie, Hunter Clayton, and Lee Stow. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
