Jenny Lee Hamilton, 74, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on July 24, 2026, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.
She was born on March 6, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Vernon “Stub” and Alma Lorene (Hollis) Crossfield.
She was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Jenny graduated from Piggott High School with the Class of 1970. She remained an active and devoted member of her graduating class throughout the years, responsible for the class education and scholarship funds and participating in many class activities. The Class of 1970 remained a close-knit group, and the lifelong friendships they shared were very special to her. She enjoyed spending time with her close friends, especially gathering for Taco Tuesday and playing Shanghai, Rummy, Hand, Knee and Foot, Rook, and dominoes.
Jenny devoted 25 years to education, teaching special education in several school districts, including Parkin, Jonesboro, Piggott, and Corning. She cared deeply for her students and faithfully served the children and families entrusted to her care.
Above all, Jenny loved her family. She was deeply devoted to her children and was always proud of them and their accomplishments. She dearly loved her seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who brought tremendous joy to her life.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Eddie Hamilton; her children, Melissa Williams and husband Lambert, David Childers and wife Julie, and Tammy Higdon and husband Shannon; her grandchildren, Zach Childers and wife Blakely, Nathan Gookin and wife Makenzie, Landon Williams and wife Shelby, Wesley Childers, Shianne Higdon and fiancé Caleb, Macey Lindsey and husband Drake, and Wyatt Childers; her great-grandchildren, Lane, Brantlee, Oakley, Parker, Stetson, Lennox, Atlas, Thea, Porter, and Remi; her sister, Sue Ann Rushing and husband Jerry; her brother-in-law, George Jr. “Bub” Hamilton; her niece, Scarlett Janes; her nephew, Jason Janes; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with Jerrod Lowe officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
Because family vacations were so special to Jenny, her family will gather during the summer of 2027 at a special place she had requested for a memorial service in her honor. Together, they will celebrate her life, share treasured memories, and honor her wishes concerning her cremated remains. A memorial marker will be placed at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Piggott High School Class of 1970 Scholarship Fund.
